Bowflex TreadClimber TC20

The Bowflex TC20 is a part of an extremely innovative series, but is way overpriced. Bowflex is charging $3,299 for this treadclimber, nearly $1,000 more than the TC10 and over $2,000 more than the TC5. Yes some of the specs and durability of the machine have been improved upon in this model, but there really isn’t enough difference between them to justify such a huge price increase. For those who have never seen a treadclimber and are wondering what the craze is about let me tell you.
The treadclimbers are a treadmill, elliptical, and stair stepper all in one. Instead of just one tread belt like a normal treadmill the treadclimbers use two tread belts called treadles. These treadles also are moved manually up and down like a stair stepper. The two actions of the treadles moving and the stair stepper motion create an almost elliptical machine movement. You can turn off the motor and use the treadclimber as only a stair stepper or you can lock the treadles in place and use the machine as a treadmill.
The TC20 has a slightly stronger reliability and design, but other than that there are not many differences between it and the TC10. The TC5 is the best deal, but for a little more durability the TC10 is a good deal as well. The TC20 just doesn’t have enough differences to justify such a steep price increase.
