Bowflex TreadClimber TC5
Reviewed by TreadmillReviews.com
The TC5 is a part of Bowflex’s innovative line of treadclimbers. It’s also the cheapest one in the line and offers similar features as the other models. The treadclimbers a like a hybrid treadmill, elliptical, and stair stepper all in one. There are 2 mini tread belts called treadles that are powered by the machine’s motor. The two treadles manually move up and down like a stepper and all these settings are interchangeable. The actualy machine is pretty light weight in comparison to other fitness equipment and the TC5 comes with a 1-year worry-free warranty. The maximum weight capacity is 300 pounds and the treadles can move up to 4.5 mph. A good thing about these treadclimbers are that they are small and they are quiet. There are 4 LCD screens that display speed, distance, calories, and time.
The TC5 has a few minor differences from the other two models in its line. One thing for sure is that the TC5 is much cheaper than the TC10 or TC20. The treadles on the TC5 are also a bit smaller, which isn’t that big of a deal since the machine functions much like a stair stepper anyways. The one thing that does take away from this cheaper treadclimber is the short warranty and that in comparison to the other models is a bit less stable.
The TC5 is a great buy if you’re looking for an interesting mix of elliptical, treadmill, and stair stepping workouts. If you are planning to use your treadclimber more heavily then the TC10 offers more stability and a longer warranty. The TC20 is way overpriced for its differences from the TC10 and it’s not a very good value. Out of the treadclimbers we suggest the TC5 and maybe the TC10 if you plan on using it extensively.
