Treadmill Review

Updated: September 15, 2023

The NordicTrack Commercial 1750 is the perfect treadmill for indulging in premium trainer-led workouts and next-level cushioning. This NordicTrack Commercial 1750 review provides a detailed look at who this treadmill is for, what features it is loaded with, and a few things that could be improved on the model in future iterations.

The 1750 is a premium treadmill, which means it comes with a high-ticket price but features to match. This treadmill has an HD 14” touchscreen, clear speakers, and Bluetooth connectivity for a workout nearly as good as being outside or part of a real-life class. With multiple ways to personalize the workout, you can feel motivated and pushed to reach your goals by the 1750.

Who The NordicTrack Commercial 1750 Treadmill Is Best For:

  • Studio goers looking to bring the studio feel home: With trainer-led classes from iFIT, the 1750 has thousands of classes with professional trainers who guide and motivate you through your exercise routines on and off the treadmill.
  • Walkers and Runners alike: no matter what speed or duration you want to get your treadmill workout in at, the 1750 can meet you where you are.
  • Runners who need a break from the outdoor grind: whether the weather sucks, you are tired of the same old routes, you need a different direction for your training, or you are trying to recover, the 1750 can help you switch up your routine.
  • Cardio lovers who want to reduce the impact of running or walking: The Commercial series from NordicTrack has some of the softest treadmill cushioning on the market, and the 1750 is no exception. Have every step cushioned by the RunnerFlex cushioning.

Pros And Cons Of The NordicTrack Commercial 1750 Treadmill

Pros PROS

  • The cushioning is very soft, some of the softest I have tested. It makes for improved recovery runs or taking a step down from high-impact activity.
  • The 14” touchscreen is HD quality with great speakers and a Bluetooth audio option for fantastic consumption of iFIT’s vast fitness class library.
  • A modern and refined appearance. Treadmills take up a lot of space, but the 1750 won’t be a blight upon your space. It folds to reduce space and looks sleek at all times.
  • The screen pivots and tilts so you can easily view iFIT’s non-treadmill content. Warm up with your cardio routine on your treadmill and hop off for your next resistance training activity or yoga session.
  • The fan is plenty powerful to keep you cool and even has AutoBreeze technology to speed up as you do.

Cons CONS

  • The 14” touchscreen is built for iFIT content only. If you prefer to be entertained rather than follow along with a trainer-led workout, this treadmill might not be the right fit for you, as this treadmill does not have a place to set your tablet for easy viewing.
  • The console shakes while running at high speeds. While it wasn’t enough to disturb my belongings or make the classes hard to view, I prefer a more stable console–it’s easier on the eyes.

Treadmill Review Of The NordicTrack Commercial 1750

Build Quality

NordicTrack Commercial 1750 Treadmill - Upright + Deck Profile
The 1750 is built on a steel frame and has transport wheels for ease of moving.

Frame

The 1750 is built on a steel frame that feels quite sturdy despite the absence of a crossbar between the two uprights. NordicTrack slimmed down several of its treadmills for a modernized and sleek finish.

The treadmill arms are textured plastic, which does not feel slippery even when you are sweaty. I felt nice and secure hopping on and off the treadmill. The footrails are stable. I have had bad experiences with treadmill rails coming off when I needed to get off quickly, but I have no such worries with the 1750. Everything about the build feels up to the task.

Motor

The motor is 3.5 continuous horsepower. This motor strength is sufficient for activities from walking to long-distance running. The motor is impressively quiet even while running at high speeds. The motor hood only rises a minimal amount above the deck. This feature helps prevent me from hitting the motor hood, so I like it as opposed to bulkier motor hoods.

The incline motor transitioned smoothly from level to declined to fully inclined. At times, I could not believe I was at an incline, because I had not noticed the treadmill changing position! That’s the kind of quiet you want from a treadmill.

Running Surface

The NordicTrack Commercial 1750 treadmill has a 20” W by 60” L deck. The running surface is well-cushioned and spacious enough to accommodate a wide range of users. The 60” length is adequate for most stride lengths, whether walking or running. I am a smaller user at 5’4”, but I never once felt cramped. I could move back from the console and still hit the higher paces comfortably.

This is one of the softest treadmills I tested. My legs could recover from my hard road runs.

Folding

The 1750 is a folding treadmill. While I would not want to move this treadmill regularly, it can be tilted back onto its two wheels for relocation. I recommend having a dedicated space where the treadmill can be folded and unfolded to prepare for use.

Storage

Storage is a little lacking on the NordicTrack Commercial 1750. There are two modestly sized cupholders, but that is the only storage this treadmill offers. Other treadmills, like the Bowflex 10, offer much more expansive storage with roomy cupholders and a device rack. Still, you can keep your phone and water nearby on the 1750, so this space should be adequate for many users.

Incline/Decline

The NordicTrack Commercial 1750 can incline and decline. Its range is -3% to 12%. There is no speed cap while the treadmill is inclined, but while the treadmill is declined, the speed maxes out at 8 mph.

The decline looks subtle, but my legs surely felt it!

Features & Accessories

The 1750 is a premium treadmill with matching features. Of course, the 14” touchscreen is the most obvious draw to this treadmill. The 1750 is an easy-to-navigate treadmill without all the crowding of features and buttons you won’t use.

Console Overview

The 1750’s console has an easily accessible layout. The screen dominates most of the space, encouraging you to use the onscreen controls rather than the buttons. When I am dialed into iFIT’s content, this is how I prefer to use the treadmill. Then, iFIT also AutoAdjusts to your fitness level for a truly hands-free experience.

NordicTrack Commercial 1750 Treadmill iFIT Screen + Arms
The 1750 has a high-tech console that’s easy to navigate due to its ample screen and button size.

The OneTouch buttons alongside the screen make setting your speed or incline a breeze. I rarely had to press a button more than once to make my selection. Pressing more than one button in quick succession sets the speed to the specificity of a tenth. For instance, pressing 1-2 sets the speed to 1.2 mph. There are also arrow buttons to help you make a more precise speed or incline adjustment if those are easier to reach for you.

Screen

14” is well above adequate screen size. While not as cinematic as the 22” and 32” touchscreens NordicTrack offers in its Commercial 2450 and the X32i, 14 inches feels more than sufficient for how close I tend to run to the console. Everything is easily navigable. I don’t have to worry about my fingers getting too sweaty from exercising to use it, as the touchscreen is very responsive. The picture quality is fantastic, providing crisp detail of iFIT’s worldwide content.

Speakers

This treadmill’s speakers are fully functional, so you don’t have to worry about straining to hear training cues. At 9mph, I could still hear the instructor over my footsteps without cranking the volume up.

Bluetooth

If you prefer a more private or stealthy listening experience, the 1750 allows you to connect your Bluetooth headphones to the treadmill. I had no problems getting my headphones to pair, as you can do it right from the home menu in iFIT or within a class. Once my headphones were ready to pair, I simply had to select them from the identified Bluetooth devices on the screen, and I was good to go.

Another Bluetooth feature is the ability to connect to a compatible heart rate monitor. This feature works with ActivePulse Technology, so you can train within your desired heart rate zone.

Performance

If running can ever feel easy, it does on the NordicTrack Commercial 1750. When your foot hits the deck, the treadmill lowers to help absorb some of the shock. Next, it provides some rebound to help you to your next step. This reinforces my draw to the 1750 for my easy or recovery run days. It might not replicate the difficulty of training on the road, but it feels very nice underfoot. If you want to reduce the impact of running or walking on your body, I recommend this treadmill wholeheartedly.

Fair warning, the moment I paired my headphones and got going on the 1750, I lost myself in iFIT’s premium content. The 14” touchscreen is a great size, and I don’t think many users will want a bigger display. The treadmill is easy to control using the onscreen options, and I used this method most often. With the addition of the OneTouch buttons on the side of the display, I hardly touched the arrow buttons.

NordicTrack 1750 Console
Metrics are easy to see on this 14” screen, and the picture quality is fantastic.

A big pet peeve of mine is hitting the motor hood while I am running. Fortunately, the console is well positioned in conjunction with the minimal motor hood, so I did not hit the motor hood once.

Overall, the NordicTrack Commercial 1750 makes for an impressive machine. It has much to offer a variety of users. The quiet motor and smooth speed/incline transitions transformed my run. Treadmills can often make these adjustments feel unnatural, particularly for a runner like me, who logs most miles outdoors. iFIT’s automatic adjustments really helped me shut off my brain and run with a more natural running form, rather than worrying over pressing the next button to advance my workout.

iFIT Subscription & Content Options

Subscription content is a polarizing topic nowadays. Some hate it; some love it. The NordicTrack Commercial 1750 treadmill is intended for use with the iFIT platform, which provides thousands of classes for a monthly fee of $39. There are also options to pay annually to save some money. Your treadmill purchase comes with iFIT free for the first 30 days. After which, you can decide whether or not you would like to continue your subscription.

iFIT has some stellar content. I have enjoyed every class I have taken on the platform, and I love that it works with more than just treadmills. If you have other fitness equipment from NordicTrack or ProForm, or if you would like to do a HIIT workout, iFIT can also lead you through those types of workouts. The 1750’s screen pivots for easy viewing while you do a non-treadmill workout. If this isn’t enough, you can log into your iFIT account on a smart device to watch classes there.

Without iFIT, the 1750 does not lose all of its functionality. If you have no WiFi connection, you can use the treadmill in manual mode. With WiFi but no iFIT subscription, you have several of their preloaded program options. Most of these are not trainer-led and are more comparable to what is found on entry-level treadmills. Featured trainer-led content rotates regularly, so you can get a taste of what iFIT is like now and then before subscribing or resubscribing. You can also preview the content by browsing the library, though your access is restricted.

I recommend using iFIT to get the most out of your NordicTrack Commercial 1750 treadmill. Still, several features make it a stellar treadmill without the content. The cushion is one of them. Whether you decide to use iFIT or not, you get a truly premium treadmill with the 1750.

iFIT content automatically adjusts the incline to match real-life terrain.

Bottom Line Review: NordicTrack Commercial 1750 Treadmill

The NordicTrack Commercial 1750 is a premium treadmill that delivers advanced cushioning and top-of-the-line subscription content. It is powerful enough to handle heavy use, which you will want to do to take advantage of iFIT’s thousands of classes. This treadmill can learn your fitness level and adapt to help you improve your fitness. The 1750 makes cardio enjoyable with its phenomenal trainers and worldwide classes. It’s a top-rated treadmill, because it keeps you looking forward to your next workout.
