The 1750 is built on a steel frame that feels quite sturdy despite the absence of a crossbar between the two uprights. NordicTrack slimmed down several of its treadmills for a modernized and sleek finish.
The treadmill arms are textured plastic, which does not feel slippery even when you are sweaty. I felt nice and secure hopping on and off the treadmill. The footrails are stable. I have had bad experiences with treadmill rails coming off when I needed to get off quickly, but I have no such worries with the 1750. Everything about the build feels up to the task.
The motor is 3.5 continuous horsepower. This motor strength is sufficient for activities from walking to long-distance running. The motor is impressively quiet even while running at high speeds. The motor hood only rises a minimal amount above the deck. This feature helps prevent me from hitting the motor hood, so I like it as opposed to bulkier motor hoods.
The incline motor transitioned smoothly from level to declined to fully inclined. At times, I could not believe I was at an incline, because I had not noticed the treadmill changing position! That’s the kind of quiet you want from a treadmill.
The NordicTrack Commercial 1750 treadmill has a 20” W by 60” L deck. The running surface is well-cushioned and spacious enough to accommodate a wide range of users. The 60” length is adequate for most stride lengths, whether walking or running. I am a smaller user at 5’4”, but I never once felt cramped. I could move back from the console and still hit the higher paces comfortably.
The 1750 is a folding treadmill. While I would not want to move this treadmill regularly, it can be tilted back onto its two wheels for relocation. I recommend having a dedicated space where the treadmill can be folded and unfolded to prepare for use.
Storage is a little lacking on the NordicTrack Commercial 1750. There are two modestly sized cupholders, but that is the only storage this treadmill offers. Other treadmills, like the Bowflex 10, offer much more expansive storage with roomy cupholders and a device rack. There are also arrow buttons to help you make a more precise speed or incline adjustment if those are easier to reach for you.
14” is well above adequate screen size. While not as cinematic as the 22” and 32” touchscreens NordicTrack offers in its Commercial 2450 and the X32i, 14 inches feels more than sufficient for how close I tend to run to the console. Everything is easily navigable. I don’t have to worry about my fingers getting too sweaty from exercising to use it, as the touchscreen is very responsive. The picture quality is fantastic, providing crisp detail of iFIT’s worldwide content.
This treadmill’s speakers are fully functional, so you don’t have to worry about straining to hear training cues. At 9mph, I could still hear the instructor over my footsteps without cranking the volume up.
If you prefer a more private or stealthy listening experience, the 1750 allows you to connect your Bluetooth headphones to the treadmill. I had no problems getting my headphones to pair, as you can do it right from the home menu in iFIT or within a class. Once my headphones were ready to pair, I simply had to select them from the identified Bluetooth devices on the screen, and I was good to go.
Another Bluetooth feature is the ability to connect to a compatible heart rate monitor. This feature works with ActivePulse Technology, so you can train within your desired heart rate zone.
If running can ever feel easy, it does on the NordicTrack Commercial 1750. When your foot hits the deck, the treadmill lowers to help absorb some of the shock. Next, it provides some rebound to help you to your next step. This reinforces my draw to the 1750 for my easy or recovery run days. It might not replicate the difficulty of training on the road, but it feels very nice underfoot. Fair warning, the moment I paired my headphones and got going on the 1750, I lost myself in iFIT’s premium content. The 14” touchscreen is a great size, and I don’t think many users will want a bigger display. The treadmill is easy to control using the onscreen options, and I used this method most often. With the addition of the OneTouch buttons on the side of the display, I hardly touched the arrow buttons.
A big pet peeve of mine is hitting the motor hood while I am running. Fortunately, the console is well positioned in conjunction with the minimal motor hood, so I did not hit the motor hood once.
