Proform 8.0 ZT Review & Ratings

Overview

The Proform 8.0 ZT Is a powerful treadmill for its price range. The 2.25 CHP MachZ Motor is a great quality and size motor for such a low priced treadmill. The near full sized 18" x 55" belt is large enough for practically any runner.  The 250 lb weight limit is a bit low for comfort. It indicates that the deck isn't very strong, and could crack or break under intense running. There is a reason this treadmill won the Best Buy award. There just isn't quite any other treadmill with this quality in this low price range. There are twelve workout programs that you can utilize on the 8.0 ZT and the screen display is a blue tinted LCD screen that shows speed, time, distance, and calories burned. The 8.0 ZT also uses a little bit outdated iFit Workout Card Technology that has 8 weeks of workouts designed and set up by Jillian Michaels. This is not to be confused with iFit Live as they are very different applications. The card workouts are a nice touch however and add a little bit of value to the treadmill. The warranty for the ZT is a little bit disappointing. It has a 7 year motor warranty and only a 90 days parts and labor warranty. Many of the newer ProForm models offer a much better deal like lifetime frame and 25 years motor.

Conclusion

If there were an alternative that I would suggest, it would be Proform's current model in this price range, the Performance 400. The motor is just as strong, the walking area is larger, the weight capacity is stronger, and there are many more improvements. The Performance 400 also has more features like more workout applications, workout intensity control, and a much better warranty than the ZT. Generally with Proform, all their lower end models are the best for the price range. 

This treadmill is one of the Best Buys for last year. The specs and features simply outweigh that of any other treadmill in this price range.
