ProForm 850T Review & Ratings
Overview
The Proform 850T is similar to the others in its family. It has all the functionality and features that go into making it a healthy run. The 850T is iFit Live compatible and ProForm does market its iFit use, but with its screen display it's best to skip out on the program. You can't utilize all the great aspects of iFit Live on this model and its a little disappointing. The iFit Live technology allows for more than enough variety when it comes to course running. It allows you to connect to the internet, connect to Google maps, and let the treadmill take you away to different courses and trails all around the globe, but sadly you won't be able to see it all that well on the 850T because its screen is only a 6" backlit low quality display. The deck though is cushioned well and you will feel that in the added comfort of the built-in ProShox Lite cushioning system, the built-in speakers and iPod connection, and your mind will be more focused on being entertained than breaking a sweat. This is an impressive machine for it's price.
Alternatives
Although the 850T used to be a fairly good deal in the day, there are better ones out there for less. The ProForm Power 795 is a better pick that has better specs and is $500 dollars cheaper! The Power 795 still has the same problem as the 850T with the screen display, making features like iFit Live a not so good option to have included. For better features and screens you can find the ProForm Performance 1450 for $1,499 that includes iFit Live, a 10" full-color touch screen, and a browser powered by Android. The 1450 has so many cool features that you can entertain yourself while running for hours.
As far as specifications go look at this. The deck is 20" x 55" large which should be roomy enough for most people that aren't too tall. The engine is a full 2.5 CHP motor capable of running anyone from here to Timbuktu. Really, with Proform's cooling systems you can run on these treadmills all you want without worrying about them burning out.
Conclusion
The motor is a bit on the weaker side and the deck could use a more powerful shock absorbing system, and the model is a bit outdated with newer models having better specs for less of a cost. We recommend looking into the Power 795 for a little better specs at a much lower cost or the Performance 1450 with amazing features and better specs at a slightly higher cost.
