While the Adventure 3 isn’t a terrible treadmill, the price is too high for the limited features offered.
Small running belt - The Adventure 3 measures 20” x 55”, which is 5” shorter in length than other treadmills in its price range, like the NordicTrack C990 and SOLE F63.
Limited utility - With its small motor, the Adventure 3 is best suited for walkers..

Motor Size - The motor in this treadmill is 2.5 CHP. This is a small motor compared to other treadmills on the market and in this price range. We recommend a larger motor size for regular running.
Running Area - The running surface is 20” by 55”. This is considerably shorter than similarly priced treadmills - approximately 5” shorter than most. Tall users might consider a longer running surface for more stability. However, smaller running gates shouldn’t have problems with this sized running surface.
Weight Capacity - The Adventure 3 has a weight capacity of 300 lbs. Our heaviest testers (approx. 220 lbs) found this treadmill less stable than others when running and prefer sturdier treadmills for ease of mind.
Folding - The Adventure 3 does have the ability to fold up compactly. It’s a small treadmill that stores well in a closet if you’re looking for something you can hide away while not in use.
Space / Footprint - Like many Horizon treadmills, the Adventure 3 is a fairly compact machine. When in use, it measures 34" wide, 71" long, and 54" high. It is a lightweight machine as far as treadmills go, weighing only 177 lbs. In its folded state of 34" wide, 45" long, and 61" high, it is easy to move and can fit easily into tight living quarters.
Max Speed - The treadmills max speed is 12 MPH. This is an industry standard. However, we don’t suggest using this treadmill at high speeds.

Workout Apps - The Adventure 3 comes with 30 different workout programs. These programs focus on a range of activities, from calorie-based goals, distance programs, interval training, manual programming, and step-based workouts.
Display - The display on the Adventure 3 is a simple, 5.75” LCD screen. The display will show you a running track of your progress, time elapsed, calorie burn, and heart rate.
Speakers - Sound quality is decent up to mid-range volume. The treadmill’s sound quality rapidly deteriorates at higher volumes, with feedback noise present at the highest volume levels.

Heart Rate Monitoring - The only heart rate monitoring equipment that comes with the Adventure 3 is the handlebar EKG grips. As heart rate monitoring handlebars are not very accurate, this can be a downside for users who want an accurate measurement of their workout intensity.

While the build quality of the Adventure 3 isn’t necessarily bad, it does not hold up well against other treadmills in its price range. It is a lighter treadmill and prone to being bouncy when using it for anything but walking.
The cushioning of the Adventure 3 is minimal. Our testers did not notice a difference between the 3 different zones of cushioning despite the 3-zone Variable Response cushioning. This likely won’t trouble an average user with no special cushioning requirements. But for those worried about joint health or recovering from injuries, you may want a more heavily cushioned treadmill than the Adventure 3.
