The Proform Pro 2500
Anyone ever listened to the song Voyage, by Yanni? Tell you what, it dramatizes the whole mood of whatever you’re doing. I was working on a treadmill yesterday while listening to that song, and it made the whole operation seem action packed. I felt like the world depended on me for those few minutes. Finally, when the song ended I realized I was just working on a treadmill, doing my thing. I guess I’ll just have to keep changing the world – One Treadmill Review At a Time! Maybe I’ll make that my new headline.
Anyway, the treadmill I was working on was the Proform Pro 2500. Anyone heard of it? It’s pretty new. If anyone has one, I’d love to hear about your experience with it. It’s hard to know exactly how well new treadmills are going to hold up until they’ve been tried with the test of time. However, I’ve got pretty good confidence in this one, and it’s older brother the Pro 4500. Both are some of the most solid machines Proform has come out with. From head to toe they’re not only heavy-built, but decked out with features to make things more fun, convenient, and comfortable. It’s a luxury treadmill in every aspect.
The price actually went on sale for $1499 online yesterday. That’s pretty standard, they come out for a while at full price, and then eventually the price gets cut in half for a while. At full price there are probably better options, but at the half price sale, I think this is an instant unofficial best buy.
The guts of this machine include: a 3.5 CHP Mach Z Commercial Pro Motor. A decent motor with a lot of power and little noise. The 20″ x 60″ 2-ply commercial treadbelt should be 4-ply, but 2 will suffice for a while. To replace the tread belt is usually only about $100 – $150 dollars, and shouldn’t need to be done very often. You’ll want to flip or replace your deck when you get a new belt, and those usually cost around $200.
The weight capacity is 375 lbs, the incline can go down to -3% and up to 15%, the speed can reach up to 12 MPH and the display screen is a 7″ full color touch screen that displays everything you’ll need. Ifit Live is already built in, and I recommend utilizing it. Try it out if you haven’t before, it really is fun to track everything and see your progress. It helps keep you motivated.
I’ll put the rest of the features in the list:
- 3.5 CHP Mach Z Commercial Pro Motor
- 375 lbs weight limit
- 7″ full color touch screen display
- 12MPH Max Speed
- -3 – 15% Incline
- 20″ x 60″ 2 ply tread belt
- 30 Workouts
- Ifit Live Built in
- Fold-up design with Easy Lift Assist
- 8″ workout fan
- CardioGrip Heart Rate w/ chest strap
- Ipod/Mp3 port w/ Acoustic 3.0 Speakers,/li>
- FS2 Full Surface Suspension Cushioning
- Warranty: lifetime frame/motor, 5 year parts, 2 year labor
Whew, that’s a lot of stuff. Really for the sale price it’s at right now, you get more quantity and quality on this than with most other treadmills in its class. The warranty says a lot about it too, so with such a good warranty, you can feel a bit more confident about it. Overall, I noticed that this was a very comfortable, quiet, and smooth treadmill. I’d recommend it.
