Cost – The T101 is a budget treadmill and usually is priced around $700. This treadmill will not stand up to heavy use by a runner but is perfectly adequate for the needs of a regular walker and occasional jogger. The F63 is higher-priced at $999 as it is meant for those who want to use it for not only walking but jogging as well as some running.
Category Winner – Horizon T101
Weight Capacity – If treadmill buyers are looking for a treadmill with a higher-than-usual weight capacity, then these people should consider the F63 with its max weight user weight of 325 lbs. The T101 is supposed to be rated to hold a user who weights up to 300 lbs, but as it is a very lightweight treadmill, this 300 lbs claim is suspect.
Category Winner – SOLE F63
Available Programs – When using the T101, users have access to 30 different exercise programs. These programs fall into five different workout categories such as manual, intervals, calories, step, and distance. There are only 10 workout programs on the F63, which are cardio, manual, fat burn, heart rate, hill, interval, and strength. Also, there are 2 spots for a user to make custom exercise programs.
Category Winner – Horizon T101
Dimensions – Slim and easily able to fit into homes with restricted space, the T101 has smaller measurements than the F63 which are 55” tall, 70” long, and 34” wide. While the F63 has larger dimensions than the T101, it is still not an overly bulky treadmill. If users are unsure if their homes have the dimensions to fit the F63, know that it measures 57” tall, 82” long, and 35” wide.
Category Winner – Horizon T101
Running Surface – With the smaller dimensions of the T101, the running area is naturally more restricted on the T101, which area measures 20” wide and 55” long. This area can be too short for a user who is over 6’2”, especially if they want to use the incline function. The F63 has an extra 5” of length on the T101 with its treadmill belt measurements of 20” wide and 60” long. This length is perfectly adequate for short and tall users alike.
Category Winner – SOLE F63
Folding – Both of these treadmills are able to fold up easily as they have been fitted with a lift assistance system. This hydraulic lifting system is located in different areas, depending on the treadmill. Both of these easy lift systems allow users to allow the treadmill decks to lower hands-free. On the T101, users can find the lift system along the side of the T101 deck, with the deck release lever located near the base of the treadmill. Users will have to use their foot to operate the deck.
While the hydraulic system for the F63 is also located around the base of the treadmill, there is a more convenient deck release handle on the F63. When the treadmill deck is in the upright position, the release handle should be around eye level for the user.
Category Winner – SOLE F63
Motor Size – The 2.25 CHP motor on the T101 is easily outclassed by the stronger, 3.0 CHP motor on the F63. With the more powerful motor on the F63, users can utilize this treadmill for walking, jogging, and some running while the T101 is best used for walking with its small motor. Both treadmills run fairly quietly, with a steady hum emitted when in use.
Category Winner – SOLE F63
Incline Range – As a budget treadmill, the T101 has the somewhat restricted incline range of 0% to 10%. While this is better than other budget treadmills on the market, it doesn’t stand up to the F63 incline range of 0% to 15%. With a higher incline range, users can achieve greater weight loss results and training intensity.
Category Winner – SOLE F63
Speed – As with the incline range disparity, there is a clear difference between the F63 and T101. On the T101, users can reach a max speed of 10 MPH. However, on the F63, users can hit a top speed of 12 MPH.
Category Winner – SOLE F63
Fans – There are fans on both of these treadmills. The fans on the T101 are in a fixed position at the base of its console, while the F63 fan is located at the top of the treadmill console and can be angled up or down. Both treadmills do not have strong fans and the breeze these fans put out can only really be felt when using the treadmills at a walking pace.
Category Winner – Tied
Heart Rate Monitoring – Both treadmills have pulse grips available for heart rate monitoring, though these grips are not very effective at accurately measuring a user’s heart rate. Where the T101 falls short is that it is not able to sync with a wireless chest strap while the F63 is capable of syncing with a Bluetooth-enabled, wireless heart rate monitoring chest strap.
Category Winner – SOLE F63
Treadmill Weight – As a heavier and tougher treadmill, the F63 treadmill weighs 254 lbs. Far lighter is the T101, which only weighs 165 lbs.
Category Winner – Horizon T101
Look and Feel Of The Treadmill
Materials – The T101 is a light and compact treadmill, constructed with an eye to affordability. So, to make the T101 more affordable, it has many thin molded plastic parts and a slender metal frame. In contrast, the F63 has a thicker metal frame, thicker molded plastic side rails which are reinforced with metal footrests, and a tray located on the uprights of the treadmill frame adds stability to the F63.
Category Winner – SOLE F63
Sturdiness – One of the main selling points of the T101 is that it is a lightweight treadmill. However, this lightness does not add to its overall sturdiness. Along with the F63 higher weight rating, the F63 treadmill is overall is tougher and more durable than the T101.
Category Winner – SOLE F63
Moving the treadmill – Thanks to the lightness of the T101, it is easy to move the T101. All users need to do is fold it up, tilt it onto the wheels and roll the T101 away. The F63 can also be folded up securely to ready it for transportation, but when users tilt the treadmill to roll it away they have a tougher time as the F63 is significantly heavier than the T101.
Category Winner – Horizon T101
Cushioning – On the F63, users have the Cushion Flex Whisper Deck for cushioning. Most users will not be able to notice a difference between the F63 cushioning and the 3-Zone Variable Response cushioning. Neither treadmill is overly cushioned feeling but the decks are fairly flexible.
Category Winner – Tied
Assembly – The T101 has a slightly simpler assembly process compared to the assembly of the F63, as the T101 has fewer parts which need to be put together.
Category Winner – Horizon T101
User Interface

Speed and Incline Controls – Controls on the T101 and the F63 are laid out very differently. The T101 has all its full interval speed and incline levels available so users can access them easily. On the F63, a few of the incline and speed levels are not available as accessible buttons. Both treadmills have responsive buttons but without having all the levels available, the F63 falls a little short of the T101.
Category Winner – Horizon T101
Fan Controls – Both treadmills have a simple, one-touch fan button to turn their fans on and off, with both fan controls placed within easy reach of the treadmill user.
Category Winner – Tied
Program Selection – Not only is there a greater program selection on the T101, it has a better system for selecting the desired exercise program. There are five buttons on the T101, which allow users to pick their preferred workout category then scroll through the available programs. On the F63, users will have to use the program scrolling buttons with no categorization.
Category Winner – Horizon T101
Visual Display – These treadmills both come with LCD screens, but there is a clear difference between the quality of the T101 screen and the F63 screen. On the T101, users receive a 4.5” yellow-green screen with black lettering. It is pretty basic, and may not show up well under poor lighting. The screen on the F63 is a bright, backlit blue, with darker blue lettering and display images. Even in bad lighting, the screen on the F63 is easy to see.
Category Winner – SOLE F63
Entertainment Features
Speakers – Lower cost treadmills often do not have the best speakers and the T101 speakers are fairly tinny with fuzzy sound quality. The F63 are somewhat better, up to the mid-volume level, though above mid-volume the sound quality begins to deteriorate.
Category Winner – SOLE F63
USB Port – No USB port is part of either of these treadmills.
Category Winner – Tied
Other Entertainment Features – Aside from a small lip on these treadmills for a mobile device to rest, these treadmills don’t have entertainment features.
