In the ring today is the Nordictrack Commercial 1750 and the Yowza Smyrna.
You might be tired of the Nordictrack Commercial 1750 Pro by now. Somehow to made its way into two of the competitions last round, so now it’s on it’s third. So far it hasn’t lost, so let’s see how it does compared to the Yowza Smyrna. The Commercial 1750 is $1,499, while the Smyrna is only $1,399. So we’ll have to remember to give the Smyrna a bit of an edge when we compare them.
Deep down both treadmills have good hearts, they just show it differently. The drive system of the Commercial 1750 is strong. It’s equipped with a large 3.5 CHP motor that runs smooth and quietly. The belt is the full length 20″ x 60″ with 2-ply thickness. The rollers are quiet 3″ whoppers. Larger rollers are good because they give the belt more support, and they don’t have to spin as fast so they’re usually quieter, and don’t wear out. They also usually indicate a larger and stronger deck which means greater strength, stability, and durability throughout the whole treadmill. The treadmill is rated at a 350 lb weight capacity, which is a perfect size for most people.
The Yowza is very good as well when it comes to all that stuff. The motor is excellent, but it is not as big as the Nordictrack’s. The motor is only 3.0 CHP, but it feels as smooth and quiet and perfect as you can get, so it almost makes up for it’s smaller size in my opinion. The deck is also a full sized 20″ x 60″ treadbelt, and the weight capacity is the full 350 lb that you should expect.
The feel of the two treadmills are quite different. The cushioning systems are different, and the nordictrack has a more solid feel, but it would be hard to say which actually feels ‘better’. That would be up to the opinion of the runner.
As far as features go, the Nordictrack takes the lead. The Yowza has a bunch of built in programs and memory slots, but the screen isn’t very exciting, and it doesn’t have any sort of Ifit live or Progress tracking software. This is where Nordictrack excels. By adding Ifit Live and Google Maps to this model, they give it an endless variety of trails and exercises. Both have music and speakers, a fan, heart rate monitor and other little things as well.

The Nordictrack Commercial 1750 has had a great run this far, and it looks like it’s not stopping. The Yowza, although close, just couldn’t quite compete with what the Nordictrack Offers. Congratulations nordictrack, the Commercial 1750 has won again.
