Here are our competitors today: The Proform Power 995 and the Sole F63.
These two treadmills have been competitors in the budget home treadmill market for a long time now. The Sole F63 is the least expensive of the Sole models, and so has smallest specs and fewest features, but it does still come with the valuable Sole name, and customer service, and decent warranty. The treadmill has a 2.5 CHP motor, which isn’t top of the line for this price, but isn’t bad by any means, at least for a 2.5 CHP motor. The motor is a lightweight, and meant for lightweights. All treadmills in this price range are meant for lightweights. If you’re not you should probably look at more high-end treadmills, but if you are, these should be able to hold up well for some time. The Sole motor doesn’t quite measure up to the Proform’s.
The proform has a slightly larger 2.75 CHP motor, which can handle more and offer more than a 2.5. The proform has a 350 lb weight capacity which should be practically an expectation if you want to get a lasting treadmill. A 350 lb weight capacity is pretty standard even among $2,000 – $3,000 treadmills. You can find treadmills with bigger weight capacities, even up to 600 lbs. But most just stick to 350 lbs because pretty much anything beyond that isn’t usually necessary. The Sole has only a 325 lb weight capacity. Not a big difference, but every bit matters.
The Sole’s running surface is a 2-ply 20″ x 55″ treadbelt. The treadbelt is strong, but the length is cut down 5″. That’s fairly normal for this price, but it’s hard to justify when the Proform offers a full length 20″ x 60″ running area. The Proform Power 995 can reach 12MPH while the Sole can reach only up to 10MPH. When you get to extra features, the Sole begins to fall even more behind. The Proform offers Ifit Live compatibility, 20 workouts, a fan, a sound system, heart rate control, and Proshox Elite 2 Cushioning. Check out the specs below for a better comparison.

I can’t see much of a downside to the proform when putting these two up against eachother. Sole is better to work with as far as customer service, but Sole F63 treadmill as the Proform Power 995, so the Proform wins. Congratulations Proform.
