Home treadmills are all the rage these days, especially during the winter time. Treadmills get fancier and fancier every year which means it gets harder and harder to make a decision. With so many options, which home treadmill is right for you?
A recent thread on Runners World is asking this very question:
I want to buy a treadmill for use at home when raining or dark outside. What do brand/model do you recommend? I plan to use it very frequently and for anywhere from 3 miles to 13 miles. Will be kept in the garage, in case that matters. Any suggestions, advice, comments are appreciated.
The reason why I’m sharing this somewhat common question is for that very reason; it’s a very common question. Here we have your typical homeowner looking for a treadmill for home use. They’re probably not looking for anything too fancy but mainly just a starting point. Like I said, with so many options, choosing a treadmill can be daunting. A starting point is always nice.

I just purchased the nordictrack commercial pro 1250. Took me about a month to get the room ready and the Treadmill set up so I’ve only used it twice.
So far so good…
Great advice if you ask me. NordicTrack Treadmills are a good way to go if you’re looking for a decent home treadmill for a reasonable price. Of course, it all comes down to your budget. If you’re able to spend more, do it! Quality only goes up with price, especially when it comes to treadmills.
So, start with NordicTrack and go from there. Compare their treadmills against your other options and you’re off to a good start. When you’ve got a handful of options, throw them at the wall and see what sticks. If you’re still stuck, you can always contact me with any questions you might have.
