Treadmill Review

On its own, the Bodyguard T-45 is a good treadmill. However, with an asking price of $3,299, it is not quite up to that price standard. Even when compared against more affordable high-end treadmills like the best treadmills under $2,500, the T-45 fell short of the standards set by even that price categories. So, before you commit to buying the T-45, check out a few other, more affordable options.

Price

The T-45 treadmill is priced at $3,299.

The T-45 Is Built For Users who:

  • Need a high weight treadmill - The T-45 can accommodate a user who weighs up to 400 lbs.
  • Want an easy-to-use console - With clear labels and a clean layout, it is easy for most users to jump on the T-45 and start using it.
  • Have space for a non-folding treadmill - As the T-45 does not fold, users will need to ensure they have space for a non-folding piece of equipment.

Why The T-45 earned 2.8 stars

The T-45 lost most of its points with Treadmill Reviews because its price clearly does not match the features available on this treadmill.

  • Below average specs - From the underpowered motor to the limited incline range, the T-45 is not as powerful as other residential treadmills which cost around $1,000 less.
  • Limited features - There are very few comfort features available on the T-45 and a restricted amount of programs.
  • Decent build quality - The residential warranty and build quality of the T-45 are decent, though the cushioning may be lacking for those with joint sensitivities.

While the T-45 is not necessarily a bad treadmill, it is overpriced for the features it has available.

Main Specs - 5/10

Specs “Quick Review”:

  • Motor Size: 3 HP
  • Running Area: 22” W x 56” L
  • Weight Capacity: 400 lbs
  • Folding: No
  • Footprint In Use (W, L, H): 30” x 74” x 54”
  • Incline Range: 0% to 15%
  • Max Speed: 12 MPH
  • Treadmill Best For: Walkers, Joggers
  • Electrical Requirements: 120 VAC

Motor Size - The motor in this treadmill is a 3 HP motor. We have no CHP measurement, which is the more accurate power measurement of the strength of a treadmill motor.

Running Area - The walking treadmill belt measures 22” wide by 56” long. While the 22” in width is fairly standard, the 56” in length is 4” shorter than the standard length we expect from the higher end treadmills. This can make it difficult for users over 6’2” to use the full incline range, as they may overstride the deck length.

Weight Capacity - Able to accommodate a user who weighs up to 400 lbs, the T-45 joins the handful of treadmills which are able to do that.

Folding  - There is no folding capacity with this treadmill.

Space / Footprint -  Surprisingly, the high weight capacity of the T-45 has not made it a bulky treadmill. It measures 30” wide, 74” long, and 54” tall. So, though it cannot fold, it does not take up as much space as other non-folding treadmills.

Max Speed - The treadmill’s max speed is 12 MPH, which is standard on most treadmills.

Incline - This treadmill has an incline range of 0% up to 15%. This is somewhat underwhelming, as most of the best treadmills under $2,500 have some decline ability.

T-45 Review: Build Quality

  • Warranties - 10 years parts, lifetime frame & motor, 3 years labor
  • Belt - Commercial ortho
  • Roller Size - 2.5” crowned
  • Cushioning - Bodyguard Dissipation System
  • Customer Support - Phone, email
  • Return Policy - No returns once received

The warranty on the T-45 is decent, though it would be nice to see a longer labor warranty for a treadmill of this price. As for the cushioning, the Bodyguard Dissipation System is adequate for most users’ needs. If you are particularly sensitive to impact, you may want more cushioned shoes to use the T-45.

There is no return policy for the T-45. Bodyguard recommend you refuse the shipment if the box is badly damaged. Should there be minor damage, you will need to mark it on the paperwork and send pictures to Bodyguard so they can send replacement parts for you to swap. If there are problems after setup, such as console failure, then Bodyguard issues replacement parts but still offers no return.

Bottom Line Review Of The Bodyguard T-45 Treadmill

For a fairly expensive treadmill, the T-45 is not as fully kitted out as users might expect. If you want better features at a lower price, we would recommend you look at some of the best treadmills under $2,500 before you decide to buy the T-45.

Best Place To Buy The Bodyguard T-45 Treadmill

The best place to purchase the Bodyguard T-45 treadmill is through the Bodyguard Fitness official website. That way, you can be sure the warranty will be fulfilled if you have any issues with your treadmill. Also, you can be sure you are receiving a brand-new treadmill, rather than a refurbished one that has been misleadingly marked as new by a third-party treadmill seller.
