Treadmill Review

The Gold’s Gym Trainer 720 treadmill is a fairly average treadmill for its price range. It has a top speed of 10 MPH, an incline range of 0% to 10%, 18 exercise programs, and a 20” by 55” treadmill belt.

It does, however, lack Bluetooth connectivity, which excludes it from syncing any additional fitness programs with the treadmill. This can limit the utility of the Trainer 720. But, as far as budget treadmills go, the Gold’s Gym Trainer 720 isn’t a bad choice, just not one of the best treadmills between $500-$700.

Price

The Trainer 720 is priced at $699.

The Trainer 720 Is Built For Users who:

  • Don’t care about fancy features - The Trainer 720 is a budget treadmill which means it does not have as many features as treadmills in the $1,000+ price ranges will have included. This may not matter to some users.
  • Value affordability - For some treadmill users, finding the most affordable treadmill is the most important aspect of the treadmill. The Trainer 720 is affordable and of good quality, so it will work for those users.
  • Want to walk - Users can do some jogging on the Trainer 720 but this treadmill is primarily good for walkers.

Why The Trainer 720 earned 2.4 stars

In many ways, the Trainer 720 is similar to the Treadmill Review best treadmills between $500-$700 category. It only fell short in a couple small ways.

  • Large and easy interface - One of the better qualities of the Trainer 720 is its large and easy to use interface. Bright LEDs light up your workout tracking display, with only 3 rows of console buttons, with everything clearly labeled so there is no confusion.
  • Less durable overall - The thin metal frame has a tendency to wiggle as users try to go faster than a brisk walking pace. Between the movement and overall thinness of the frame, we have our doubts about the overall durability of the frame.
  • Lacks Bluetooth - There is no way to connect a device to the Trainer 720. This limits from some of the usability other treadmills in this price range have available.

Overall, while the Trainer 720 isn’t a bad treadmill, it certainly is a budget treadmill and will not be high-quality enough for regular vigorous workouts.

While the warranty on the Trainer 720 is better than other Gold’s Gym treadmills, it is still a fairly short warranty period on everything except the frame. However, it is close to the standard among treadmills in this price range.

The frame itself is constructed from metal and molded plastic, and is thin, especially when compared to more durable treadmills like the ones produced by SOLE. Also, the uprights and console have a tendency to wiggle as you workout at speeds above 4.5 MPH.

Bottom Line Review Of The Gold’s Gym Trainer 720 Treadmill

While the Trainer 720 isn’t a bad treadmill, it is still a budget treadmill with decent specifications. If you are willing to spend a little bit more money for a treadmill which would be up for more strenuous and regular use, we would recommend the best treadmills under $1,000.
