This treadmill isn't always available on ProForm, but if it is listed when you are looking for a walking or jogging treadmill, you may want to consider this machine.

Last Updated: 9/9/2022 The ProForm 705 CST is a limited inventory treadmill and is not one of the better examples of ProForm’s treadmills. While it does provide a solid workout, it lacks some of the technology which is become more standard in ProForm treadmills. Overall, here at Treadmill Reviews, we don’t recommend the 705 CST when you can spend a little more and pick up a better treadmill.

The 705 CST Is Built For Users who:

  • Want to sync iFit on a budget - Some of the more expensive SMART ProForm treadmills come with a free month membership to iFit, but not the 705 CST. However, you can sync the 705 CST with iFit and save money.
  • Are looking for a budget treadmill - Often priced at $799, the 705 CST can fit into most people’s budgets, especially if you utilize ProForm’s financing to space out the cost.
  • Need a slightly higher weight capacity - Many budget treadmills don’t come with high weight capacities, but the 705 CST can accommodate users who weight up to 325 lbs.

While most ProForm treadmills are often some of the best in their price range, the 705 CST doesn’t quite have the right balance of features and price.
  • Limited tech available - While it may be a point of preference, the 705 CST lacks the technology to stand out with ProForm’s shift to adding more cutting edge fitness tech to their treadmills.
  • Larger footprint than other budget treadmills - Most budget treadmills have compact footprints, but the 705 CST is a bit large and may be in the way more than someone might expect when looking for a budget treadmill.
  • Only built for walking or very light jogging - This treadmill is built primarily for walking or very light jogging, and if that is all you need, there are other, more affordable treadmills available.

Motor Size - Built with a 2.75 CHP, the 705 CST is a quiet treadmill. The decent size of the treadmill motor allows it to change inclines and speeds with smooth moving action. However, it is not up for regular running and would be best with light jogging as well as daily walking. Running Area - A good-sized treadmill belt comes with the 705 CST, measuring 20” wide by 60” tall, making this treadmill able to accommodate users of most heights.
Weight Capacity - With a 325 lbs weight capacity, this treadmill is able to accommodate a bit more weight than many treadmills in the same price range.
Folding  - Like all ProForm treadmills, you can fold up the 705 CST. But unlike most of the treadmill manufactured by ProForm, the 705 CST requires the use of a spring-loaded pin to secure the deck of the treadmill, rather than the hydraulic system most other treadmills have available. While this isn’t a huge issue, it is a little inconvenient.
Space / Footprint - Fairly standard size-wise, the 705 CST measures 36.5” wide, 78.75” long, and 61” tall.  
Max Speed - You can go from 0.5 MPH up to 12 MPH on this treadmill, though the higher speed ranges will be hard on the treadmill motor, as it is under 3.0 CHP.
Incline - An incline range of 0% to 12% is available on the 705 CST. With a decent incline range, the 705 CST can allow people to increase their workout intensity and calorie burn.

Workout Apps - You can choose from 22 different built-in workout programs, and you can access them from the icons on the console. The 705 CST also can be synced with the iFit training program, which gives you access to thousands of personal trainer-designed and led workouts. Display - A bright blue, backlit 5” display comes with the 705 CST. With white lettering, you can track your calorie burn, current speed and incline, heart rate, mileage covered, and time spent working out.
Speakers - There are two small speakers located on either side of the 705 CST console, allowing you to plug in your audio media and listen without wearing headphones.
Fans - A two-speed fan is built into the 705 CST is built-in and can help the air move around you as you workout. However, it is not overly strong, and a jogger may not feel much of an effect.
Heart Rate Monitoring - Two easily-positioned heart rate monitoring handlebar grips are on the 705 CST. These pulse grips are only somewhat accurate, as is common among other handlebar grips. However, these grips can be used to take a rough estimate of your heart rate.

There are six, evenly-spaced shock absorbers under the deck of the 705 CST. With these cushions, there is less jolting went working out, whether you are walking or jogging. The deck isn’t overly flexible and may be uncomfortable for those who are recovering from injuries. If you find that the 705 CST is not the treadmill for you, ProForm has a 30-day return window which you can use to return your machine. You will need to contact a customer support representative for a return authorization number and will have a 10% restocking fee applied to your refund unless the treadmill return is due to a defective machine.

While the 705 CST is a good treadmill, you may want to check out some of the other best budget treadmills in the same price range. You can find similar features at a lower price than the 705 CST costs.
