One of ProForm’s more budget-friendly treadmills, the ProForm Power 995i is a great treadmill option for buyers. From its greater incline ability to better fan positioning, many things added up to the Power 995i being classed as the best treadmill under $1,000. It faced some stiff competition, particularly from NordicTrack’s C990 and SOLE Fitness’ F63 but the Power 995i came out on top.

With its ability to hit speeds up to 12 MPH and incline up to 15%, users can have varied workouts while using the Power 995i. It also comes with a good warranty so you can be sure to enjoy your treadmills years after your purchase. Overall, we would recommend the Power 995i to those looking for a cost-friendly, versatile treadmill.

Motor Size - The motor in this treadmill is 3.0 CHP. It runs fairly quietly and has fairly smooth belt action. The size of this motor also make speed and incline transitions fluid.

Running Area - The running area is 20” by 60”. This is on-par with other treadmills in this price range. However, when we measured the belt width, it was closer to 19.25 inches rather than a full 20 inches.

Weight Capacity - The Power 995i can accommodate a user weighing up to 300 lbs. If a potential buyer is around or slightly over 300 lbs, then the F63 may be a better option as it can hold a user up to 325 lbs.

Folding - There is a hydraulic system to assist with folding the Power 995i. You can easily raise or lower the treadmill deck with this helpful feature.

Space / Footprint - The Power 995i is a compact treadmill which measures 37" wide, 81" long, and 66.75" high. When folded, the Power 995i measures 37” wide, 47” long, and 70.5” high.

Max Speed - The treadmill’s max speed is 12 MPH. While not many treadmill users will need to avail themselves of the max speed, it is nice to know you can reach high speeds.

Workout Apps - The Power 995i has 30 different workout apps to help you reach your fitness goals. The C990 has 32 workout apps, but if you choose to use the iFit app, the Power 995i is compatible with it and the small difference in workout program numbers can vanish.

Users will have to scroll through the workout programs to find which ones they would like to use. The workout programs are split into two groups between tempo and interval workouts.

From there, users can scroll through the programs. There isn’t much to distinguish the different programs, so users will have to try them out.

Display - With a 4.5” wide by 1.5” high LCD screen, you can track your workouts on the Power 995i. ProForm has made the Power 995i easy to navigate by adding a series of buttons to the console just below the display screen. These buttons allow you to choose what data you want to have displayed as you use the Power 995i.

Speakers - The Power 995i comes with two, 2-inch speakers so you can listen to your audio entertainment without putting on headphones. The speaker quality is decently crisp at mid-range volume, though it becomes tinny at the higher volume options.

Fans - One of the features which makes the Power 995i a user favorite is the positioning of the fan. It may not seem like much, but when you are working up a sweat, having your treadmill fan in the right spot is important. While many treadmill fans are positioned toward a user’s face, the Power 995i fan is positioned so it strikes the user’s core. This helps users cool down much more effectively than other fan positions.

The Power 995i is a lightweight treadmill with a sturdy metal frame. It does not wiggle when high speeds are utilized and remains steady even when you are moving quickly at a 15% incline.

The side rails of the Power 995i have the same odd slant to them as C990 treadmill. But they have enough texturing so you won’t slip off the side rails when you stand on them.

ProShox™ Cushioning devices are located centrally under the side rails. This gives the deck a comfortable amount of flexibility. However, it is not adjustable like the C990’s cushioning.

The deck can smoothly raise and lower thanks to the hydraulic system. It has an easy release latch and the deck can then lower without any aid.

The warranty is on-par with other treadmill warranties within this price range.
