Treadmill Review

The Weslo Cadence R 5.2 treadmill is similar to most of the treadmill offerings from Weslo that we have reviewed here at Treadmill Reviews. It has a 2.5 CHP motor, 6 exercise programs, and a treadmill belt which measures 16” wide and 50” long. The R 5.2 is also lightweight with a limited and short warranty.

Overall, unless you just want a walking treadmill which may not last beyond a year or two, you probably should not buy the R 5.2.

Price

The Weslo Cadence R 5.2 costs $399.

The Cadence R 5.2 Is Built For Users who:

  • Need only a few programs - There are only 6 workout programs on the R 5.2, plus the manual feature. Users who don’t care about workout programs will be fine with the minimal number available on the R 5.2 treadmill.
  • Want a quiet treadmill - The small, 2.5 CHP motor in the R 5.2 runs quietly as you use it, which is useful to those who don’t want to disturb others with their treadmill workouts.
  • Weigh less than 250 lbs - The max user capacity on the R 5.2 is 250 lbs, so users are recommended not to weigh over that amount.

Why The Cadence R 5.2 earned 2 out of 5 stars

The R 5.2 treadmill has some merits but overall, it isn’t a treadmill we would recommend to most potential treadmill owners.

  • Very limited warranty period - The warranty period only covers 90 days post-purchase, and only applies to parts and labor. There is no warranty coverage for the motor, electronics or the frame.
  • Can be helpful for fixed incomes - For those who rely on a fixed income stream but still want a treadmill to walk on, then the R 5.2 can be a decent treadmill choice.
  • Not substantially built - From the short, spring-loaded pin that secures the treadmill deck to the narrow treadmill belt, the R 5.2 is built on cramped proportions. Also, molded plastic makes up much of the construction of the R 5.2, which may be more vulnerable to cracking.

Depending on your circumstances, these reasons may be less of an issue for you. If you do fall into the target audience, then the R 5.2 may be the right treadmill for you.

Bottom Line Review Of The Weslo Cadence R 5.2 Treadmill

The majority of the Weslo Cadence line are incredibly similar with only a few variations to mark a difference between them. It does make our bottom line on most of the Weslo treadmill line very similar — the R 5.2 like other Weslo treadmills, is only worthwhile if you want a walking treadmill and are on a fixed budget.
