The Yowza Biscayne
Ohiyo!
I’m going to crack open another Yowza treadmill today for those who buy online. As time goes on I’ve got a hunch that this company is going to grow large quickly. Although they don’t have a long selection of machines, each treadmill or elliptical they offer is hard to pass up. With their choices, there’s no need for a lot to choose from. They’ve got a competitive treadmill right in the thick of each price range they’re aiming for.
The Biscayne is their most high-end and most expensive treadmill. Just a little more than the Keewadin and the Smyrna. The parts and quality of the treadmill is excellent. The materials used are top notch, and the design and the way everything fits together is flawless and precise. The Drive system is powerful and smooth and quiet. Everything seems to have been made with great care and experience. Yowza doesn’t compromise to get their treadmills cheaper. You may be spending a bit more to bring one of these home, but the extra money is worth the extra quality. You’ll be happy with it every day you step on it.
The treadmill is a fold up design, only taking up 23.8″ of space when folded. The deck rests on thick cushioned rings that provide a soft cushioned landing in the front, and then a strong, solid surface in the back to get a good solid push off in the back. The deck is reversible, if it starts to get old on one side. The motor is a 3.0 CHP motor that pushes with powerfully and quietly. The triple layered deck running belt is a full size 20″ x 60″ area that glides along the deck silently and as slick as ice.
Some other great specifications about the treadmill include:
- 3.0 CHP Motor
- 10MPH
- 12% Incline
- 350 lbs weight limit
- Cushioning: Floating Deck with Multi-Durometer Elastometer Rings
- Running belt: 20″ x 60″
- Ipod Dock witth Speakers
- Heart Rate Monitor, Grip Pulse
This is not a light treadmill. It weighs about 254 lbs. The frame and deck are strong and solid. The warranty is one of the most prized and advertised aspects of Yowza’s machines. You get lifetime coverage on the frame and motor, 5 years on parts and electronics, and 2 years on in home labor. This warranty should keep you from worrying for a while.
This is a great treadmill. Definitely consider it when you’re looking to buy one.
