The Yowza Juno Treadmill
Got another Yowza Treadmill here for you. The Yowza Juno to be exact. Out of the 5 treadmills by Yowza, this is basically a middleman in the line. The great thing about Yowza treadmills is that they are independent from the huge manufacturing companies like Icon fitness. The reason why that is a good thing is, because being the underdog, they have to try harder to get their foot in the market. Marketing plays a role in it, but they also need to have real tangible quality that surpasses Icon and others. Without measurable quality difference, their marketing schemes would kaput quick. Another good thing about Yowza, which I’ve mentioned before, is that they’re completely online, and dealer free. All they do is sell their treadmills from their site, and that’s that. No middleman dealer fees. That saves them money and you, the customer money.
The Juno is a non-folding treadmill. The motor is a bit small for the price class that it’s in. 2.5 CHP for a low $1,000’s treadmill is lower than a lot of the more common treadmills Proforms or Nordictracks. However, the quality of the motor is great. The RPMs stay low, the noise is low, and the machine works like a charm. If you’re not heavier than the 300 lb weight limit, you shouldn’t have any problem with the motor getting bogged down, or breaking. If for some reason, it ever does give you a problem, Yowza offers a lifetime warranty on their motors anyway.
The machines are actually lighter than most treadmills, but despite their lightness they are stiff, strong, sturdy, solid, and silent (just wanted to throw in some alliteration there). Really, they are put together well though. The frames are made of steel and are pretty much all one piece.
The Console is “Ergonomically Designed”, or in other words, natural and easy for your hands. The screen is a little blue LCD number display. The whole console looks good and clean, and is very easy to use. It has a water bottle holder and an Ipod dock. The two heart rate grips are right underneath the console on an easy to hold bar right in front of you. The belt is a high quality, multiply 20″x55″ surface. 55″ is usually long enough unless your freakishly tall and like to fall behind, then your feet may fall off the end. The Deck is strong and sturdy. It sits on small cushy rubber rings that make the landing a bit softer. As with all Yowza treadmill, the rollers are crowned, ensuring the belt stays properly aligned.
Here’s a manageable list.
- 2.5 CHP
- 300 lbs weight capacity
- .5 – 10 MPH
- 12% Incline
- 20″ x 55″ multi-ply running belt
- non-folding
- MP3/Ipod Port with speakers
- Warranty: lifetime frame and motor, 5 years parts and electronics, 2 year labor.
This treadmill gets a thumbs up on looks, design, solidness, and user friendly-ness. It’s not exactly a club quality machine, but it would be perfect for a small family treadmill.
