We would consider the HealthRider H70T treadmill a decent budget if it had been priced that way. However, the cost of the H70T is closer to our best treadmills under $2,500 without any of the excellent specs these treadmills have. Instead of having a powerful motor and top-notch features, the H70T only has a 2.25 HP motor and very restricted features. Overall, if you are looking to spend around even $1,700 on a reliable treadmill, we encourage you to check out our reviews on the NordicTrack Commercial 1750, ProForm Pro 2000, and SOLE F80.
The H70T costs a surprising $2,599 on the HealthRider website. However, as quite a few of our Canadian readers may have seen, the H70T costs less on the Canadian Tire website, where they currently have it listed for $1,999. While this is a significantly lower price, it doesn’t really lower it enough. If the H70T was under $700, then it may be worth the purchase.
On its own, the H70T is a decent treadmill and would be more appealing if it was more affordable. However, due to the fact that it is priced at $2,599, Treadmill Reviews compared it to other treadmills in its price range, and we found it severely lacking.
Motor Size - The motor in this treadmill is 2.25 HP, which measurement only give the peak horsepower.
Running Area - The treadmill belt area on the H70T measures 20” wide and 55” long. The Matrix TF30 is a similarly priced treadmill with the same size of a treadmill belt.
Weight Capacity - Able to hold 300 lbs, the H70T has a standard capacity.
Folding - With a spring-loaded pin, the H70T deck can be secured in the upright position.
Space / Footprint - Measuring 36” wide, 73” long, and 56″ tall, the H70T is a small treadmill. It folds up compactly, and in the folded position, the H70T measures 36” wide, 37″ long, and 66” tall. It is easy to transport this light treadmill, so you can move it out of the way when you are not using it.
Max Speed - The treadmill’s max speed is 10 MPH, which is lower than the standard 12 MPH that you see in other treadmills in this price range.
Incline - This treadmill has an incline range of 0-10%. Many other treadmills in this price range like the NordicTrack Commercial 2950 has an incline range of -3% to 15%.
Workout Apps - There are only 15 workout programs on the H70T when many treadmills in this price range have over 35 workout programs. Personal trainers like Jillian Michaels have helped to design the programs on the H70T.
Display - A multi-windowed LED console allows you to track your workout progress, displaying your distance, speed, calories burned, heart rate, and time.
Speakers - The speakers on the H70T are small and not of the best sound quality. You are better off using your headphones or a wireless speaker.
Fans - There is a CoolAire™ fan in the H70T, which is more commonly found on a ProForm treadmill. It has a decent air output.
Heart Rate Monitoring - There are dual EKG grips on the H70T to take your pulse and show your heart rate. It is not as accurate as using a wireless chest strap, which does not come with this treadmill.
The cushioning in the H70T is ProShox™, which is more commonly found in ProForm treadmills. However, since HealthRider and ProForm are sister companies, this isn’t too surprising. The cushioning does improve the usability of the H70T, making it somewhat more comfortable than your average walking treadmill. You have 30 days where you can return the H70T to HealthRider. If you return your H70T within this window, you will receive all your money back, minus a restocking fee of 10%. If there is a problem with the H70T like damage or defectiveness on receiving this treadmill, then you will not have the 10% fee taken out.
