Treadmill Review

Last Updated: June 9, 2023

The Nautilus T616 treadmill is a clear step up from the Nautilus T616. It has a stronger motor, more programs, and a larger treadmill belt than the T614. However, when we have compared it to other treadmills manufactured by competing treadmill companies, the T616 falls short.

Price

The T616 is priced at $1,149.

The T616 Is Built For Users who:

  • Are mostly walkers and occasional joggers - The T616 has a 3.0 CHP motor, which is good enough for walkers and joggers. However, it may not be up to the pounding a regular runner would put on it.
  • Need a well-marked console - Everything on the T616 treadmill is clearly marked to cut down on confusion when using this treadmill.
  • Want better tracking - There are 4 user profiles on the T616 where you can store your workout information. It can help you build your Nautilus Fitness profile so you can accurately track your fitness growth.

Why The T616 earned 3.2 stars

For an affordably priced treadmill, the T616 is a decent quality treadmill. However, it fails to impress when viewed against other treadmilsl in its price range.

  • Only a modest amount of programs - There are 26 exercise programs on the T616, but in its price range, 30+ programs are more standard.
  • Slightly below average motor size - With a 3.0 CHP motor, the T616 has an adequately strong motor but smaller than other competitor treadmills.
  • Outclassed overall by competitor treadmills - Overall, when we researched and compared the T616 to treadmills in the $1,200 price range, this treadmill fell short in several ways.

Here at Treadmill Reviews, we’ve reviewed a wide variety of treadmills and while the T616 is a decent treadmill, it was not quite as impressive as some in the price range that we have reviewed.

  • Fans: Yes
  • Heart Rate Monitoring: Contact grips
  • USB port: Yes

Workout Apps - There are 26 exercise programs installed in the T616. The basic programs available are train, manual,  weight control, quick goal, interval, heart health, and custom workouts.

Build Quality - 6/10

T616 Review: Build Quality
  • Warranties - Frame and drive motor for 10 years, mechanical and electronics for 3 years, labor for 1 year
  • Belt - 2-ply
  • Roller Size - 2.75”
  • Cushioning - StrikeZone™
  • Customer Support - Phone, email
  • Return Policy - 6-week money-back guarantee

The deck of the T616 is fairly flexible when you workout at higher speeds. Otherwise, it is fairly firm and cushioned for a walker or jogger. With the matte black coloring of the T616, it can be hard to tell that much of the T616 is molded plastic. However, more of the T616 is plastic than metal.

We are also concerned with how short the warranty period is on the T616. While the labor, mechanical, and electronic warranty lengths are basically standard, the motor and frame warranty only lasts for ten years. It is far more standard to have lifetime warranties for the motor and frame.

Bottom Line Review Of The Nautilus T616 Treadmill

The T616 is a decent treadmill with a modest number of workout programs, average-sized treadmill belt, weight capacity and more. But for the same price of the T616 or for a bit lower price, you could pick a different treadmill.

  • With the NordicTrack C1650, it outclasses the T616 by having a 3.5 CHP motor and a 10” smart HD touchscreen. The T616 comparatively has a 3.0 CHP motor and a dual LCD screen.
  • The SOLE F65 has a higher weight capacity at 350 lbs and a treadmill belt of 22” wide by 60” long. Contrasting with the T6161, it only has a 300 lbs weight capacity and a treadmill belt of 20” wide by 60”.
  • As for the ProForm Power 1250i, it has 34 workout programs and a lifetime frame & motor warranty. The T616 has only 26 workout programs and a 10-year frame & motor warranty.
