Elliptical Review

Updated: June 9, 2023

The NordicTrack Commercial 1750 Treadmill is by far the most popular and highest-selling treadmill on the market today. As of 2020, NordicTrack has increased the price of the 1750 by about $200. With the price increase, the 1750 now has a larger HD touchscreen display and a slightly larger motor.

In the price category of treadmills between $1500 and $2000, the NordicTrack Commercial 1750 is our BEST BUY. The features available on this treadmill justify the price tag. It’s well designed, sturdy, and versatile to meet the physical fitness needs of individuals and entire households alike. Read this review to get to know the new Commercial 1750 from NordicTrack.

We Bought The Commercial 1750 For $1,799

NordicTrack has raised the price of the 1750 to accommodate for a larger display screen and motor. Going from a 7 inch screen to a 10 inch screen does make a nice difference in viewing all that is to be viewed on iFit. We want to remind our readers that we purchase our treadmills out-of-pocket, with no special deals or discounts. NordicTrack doesn’t know that a review site is buying the equipment when we submit our order. This allows us to have the same experience as our readers when buying home treadmills.

NordicTrack Commercial 1750 Treadmill Review
The NordicTrack Commercial 1750

The Commercial 1750 Is A Great Home Treadmill Option For These Users:

  • Walkers, Joggers, and Long-Distance Runners - Whether you need a great treadmill for a family with varying fitness needs or you are a runner looking for a solid treadmill, the Commercial 1750 can help you reach your health and fitness goals.
  • Anyone concerned with making a practical purchase - When it comes to high-end treadmill features, you won’t have to pay an arm and a leg to bring the 1750 home. With its reasonable pricing, you can enjoy excellent treadmill cushioning, a 3.75 CHP commercial motor, Bluetooth speakers, and much more.
  • People looking for more engagement and entertainment - An exciting addition to the Commercial 1750 is the free 30 day membership to iFit. With this access, you can choose from thousands of iFit programs, working out with top-tier personal trainers to hone your fitness.

Why The Commercial 1750 Is Rated #1 For Home Treadmills Between $1,500 and $2000

When you’re considering buying a treadmill in the price range of $1500 to $2000, you’ll find there are a TON of options. But as we compare these treadmills side by side, we’ve narrowed down our top pick to the NordicTrack 1750. We give the ‘Best Buy’ award to the 1750 for these main reasons:

  • Entertainment Factor - A lot of runners we have talked to question why we think it’s so important to have a treadmill the has a cool screen and a ton of different workout options. The answer is simple: Our goal at Treadmill Reviews is to help you get fit and make smart purchases. We love treadmills and believe they can be a great tool in your personal goal to become/stay fit. However, the people who are often the most successful and actually use their treadmill (and not just as a coat hanger in their garage) are those people who ENJOY it. The 1750 offers a subscription service with their equipment (free for the first 30 days) that is incredibly engaging and entertaining, taking the sting out of exercise and making it something you’ll look forward to every day.
  • Greater build quality overall - We feel the build quality on the NordicTrack 1750 is very reliable. The crossbar in the front of the 1750 adds to the sturdiness of this home treadmill and the warranty that comes with your purchase speaks for itself. Lifetime coverage for the frame and motor tells us that NordicTrack is pretty confident in their product.

Based on these things and the overall technical features of the Commercial 1750, this treadmill was a natural choice for the best treadmill between $1,500 and $2000.

NordicTrack Commercial 1750 Treadmill Motor Cover
The new 1750 has a smaller motor cover giving you more space for your stride.

Running Area - The tread belt is roomy at 60 inches long by 22 inches wide, making it 2 inches wider than most treadmills. This tread size is large enough to accommodate taller users with longer strides just fine. The cushioning is not substantial. If you NEED a treadmill with cushioning, take a look at NordicTrack’s Incline Treadmills. They’re more expensive, but the cushioning is excellent.

The Commercial 1750 is outfitted with Runners Flex Cushioning. When active, it decreases the physical shock by approximately 30%—a pretty big difference that we notice when we use this treadmill. Users wishing to get the feel of outdoor asphalt can even turn the cushioning off with a turnable lever on the left hand side of the deck.

NordicTrack Commercial 1750 Treadmill Cushioning
Deck cushioning can be turned off to assimilate road running conditions.

Weight Capacity - Users who weigh up to 300 lbs can safely use the Commercial 1750. If you weigh more than 300 lbs, then you may want to check out Sole treadmills, as they have notably higher weight capacities in all of their treadmills.

Folding - It’s super easy to fold and unfold the 1750 due to what NordicTrack terms its “Easylift technology”. To lift, you simply lift from the firm metal bar under the track, and the machine will assist you. Basically, it feels as if you are doing about 15% of the work. To lower, you just push in the hydraulic lift bar with your foot and start to manually lower the treadmill. The desk essentially self-lowers from there, so if you are someone who can’t lift much, you don’t need to worry. Anyone can lower this deck.

NordicTrack Commercial 1750 Treadmill Folding Deck
Folding deck remains securely in place until released with the hydraulic arm.

The deck is really easy to raise and lower. There is a bar you can hold onto beneath the end of the deck to raise up the deck and lock it into place. The hydraulic arm beneath the deck carries a lot of weight for you. NordicTrack recommends that users are able to safely pick up 45 pounds to be able to handle the deck of the 1750.

Space / Footprint - For the latest version of the NordicTrack Commercial 1750, the dimensions are as follows:

NordicTrack Commercial 1750 Space

While In Use: 81.25" L x 39.25" W x 71" H

Folded and in Storage: 40.6” L x 39.25” W x 75.25” H

Noise Level - For an accurate read, the noise output was tested on the 1750 at 1, 6, and 12 MPH with the fans on. Treadmill running at (baseline room noise of 50 dB):

  • 1 MPH, w/fans: 60db
  • 6 MPH: 70db
  • 12 MPH: 78db
Noise Level - 50 Noise Level - 60
Noise Level - 70 Noise Level - 78

Max Speed - The top speed of the Commercial 1750 is 12 MPH which is a standard max speed for most home treadmills. The nicest part about the speed adjustments though is that you don’t have to press the tiny “+” or “-” buttons to increase or decrease your speed.

On the side of the console, you have the ability to choose whatever speed you would like, from 1-12. This is a HUGE advantage for the busy person who only has 15-20 minutes to work out and thus wants to do some HIIT (high-intensity interval training) on the treadmill. You can go from 2 mph to 12 and back with a simple touch of the screen, and the transition from 2 to 12 is smooth, so you don’t have to worry about tripping yourself up.

Customer Service - There are many complaints about NordicTrack’s customer service in online reviews. But any time we have had questions for customer service, they have been quick to respond and very helpful. To them, we were an average customer. We did not let them know we were a treadmill review service. Our preferred method of contacting customer support is through their online chat feature.

One thing to note about NordicTrack - you’ll find many more reviews online (positive and negative) because more consumers have purchased this treadmill than any other model. These reviews are not the best reflection of the product. Especially when you consider that most reviews online are from disgruntled consumers. Companies are improving their processes for gathering positive reviews, but satisfied customers are less likely to write a review of the product.

Assembling the Commercial 1750

We put our 1750 together instead of paying $250 for delivery and assembly. If you’re comfortable with assembling furniture from Ikea™ , you can handle the 1750 assembly. Plan on having an extra set of hands around to mount the console onto the treadmill. Be extra careful not to pinch ANY WIRES during assembly. Another tip: hand tighten screws and bolts first. Once you have screws and bolts in place, then tighten with a wrench. As we tightened bolts and screws with a tool, we found that proceeding bolts weren’t lining up with the threaded holes. This problem can be avoided by hand-tightening first.

Commercial 1750 Shipping & Assembly Fees

If you don’t want to assembly the 1750, you can opt for White Glove delivery. This is $250 to have the boxes brought into your home and have the treadmill assembled in the room you want to house your treadmill.

Other than that, curbside delivery is free. The free delivery option will leave you with boxes under the nearest covered area - usually the garage or front porch. The delivery guy will NOT bring the boxes inside your home so you’ll need to be prepared to move these items indoors yourself.

You can also opt for in-home delivery which costs an additional $90. They’ll bring the boxes inside, but not much further than your entryway.

NordicTrack Commercial 1750 Treadmill Features

Incline - The 1750 offers an incline of up to 15% which is a little more than your average treadmill. Not only that, but those interested in a downhill effect can decline the deck by up to -3%. This helps users access different muscle groups, relieve joint pressure, and add variety to their workouts.

Also, like the speed controls, you can change the incline/decline levels with a touch of the button on the side of the console—again very nice for interval/HIIT training.

Workout Apps - The Commercial 1750 comes loaded with workout programs, from the 50 built-in programs to the free 30 days of access to iFit’s thousands of programs. Thanks to the touch screen, you can easily navigate through these programs and find one that catches your interest.

Display - The 10” high-definition touchscreen provides super clear images so you can follow along with workout videos on the treadmill. The touchscreen aspect is super responsive, and the navigation is very user-friendly. It is also sweat-resistant, so your console will stay safe as you pack in great workouts on the Commercial 1750.

Speakers - We love that the 1750 now has Bluetooth capable speakers on the console. Now you can wirelessly pair your mobile device to the console and project your audio from the speakers. If you are someone who likes loud music to get you going but don’t like to wear earbuds while you run, then there isn’t a better machine in this price range. There is also an audio jack to play audio from a non-Bluetooth device.

Fans - Nordictrack treadmill fans are the best we’ve seen. With 4 settings, you can choose the output volume. These fans are a reliable cooling method. In most competitors treadmills, the fans make little-to-no difference. Additionally, these fans have an auto-cool setting. As your intensity increases in your workout program, the fans will automatically increase their output.

Heart Rate Monitoring - The Commercial 1750 comes with EKG pulse grip handlebars. Previous models were sold with a heart rate chest strap but NordicTrack is not currently offering that feature with the Commercial 1750. The chest strap is an additional $80. It’s really great for monitoring your stats and we wish it was still included with your treadmill purchase. We’ve been able to pair a number of Bluetooth heart rate monitors from different manufacturers with the 1750, so you have that option.

Water Bottle Holders - There are two water bottle holders on the 1750. Located on the left and right side of the console. The water bottle holders are deep and can fit most size water bottles.

Accessory trays - The Commercial 1750 also has an additional accessory tray attached to the support bar beneath the console. Not all treadmills have a support cross bar beneath the console. This helps to significantly reduce the amount of movement in the console you’ll typically see at higher speeds.

Bottom Line Review Of The NordicTrack 1750 Treadmill

The NordicTrack Commercial 1750 has been one of the most popular-selling treadmills for the last several years. It’s a solid treadmill that enables almost anyone to get a great run in and is packed with features that you typically only find in more expensive models.

A major standout feature in the NordicTrack Commercial 1750 (and all NordicTrack home gym treadmills) is the iFit compatibility. With the built-in, HD touchscreens, users can scroll until they find an iFit program that appeals to them, whether it is one of the Google Maps runs or a virtual run through the streets of Paris with an iFit trainer. Even better, NordicTrack provides a free 30 days of access to iFit, allowing you to choose from hundreds of workout programs.

While features like the 10” touchscreen and great speakers don’t make it so you can magically run 26.2 miles overnight, they definitely help you enjoy running on the treadmill more, which means you are much more likely to continue using it.
