Treadmill Review Of The Redliro 2-in-1

Build Quality

The Redliro 2-in-1 is a very affordable treadmill. Treadmills tend to be one of those things where you pay for what you get. And while the Redliro performs well for its price point, it doesn’t hold up against treadmills that cost 2 to 10 times more. This isn’t a treadmill designed for serious athletes training every single day. It is better for light exercise and casual use. If you are a runner who trains outdoors 99.9% of the time and only see yourself running on the treadmill once or twice a year, this treadmill might work for those miles you just can’t miss. Generally, its construction is best for casual to moderate walking.

If you have the right expectations of its performance, the Redliro 2-in-1 is a decent option.

Frame

The Redliro 2-in-1 has a steel frame. It’s not the most robust construction that I have seen, but I am happy to see that it’s steel. The reinforcement beneath the deck is not as substantial as I would like to see on a dedicated running treadmill, but it is fine for walking. You should never exceed the weight capacity of any treadmill, and users should take note that this treadmill has only a 220-lb weight capacity compared to the 300-lb industry standard for full-size treadmills.

Motor

The motor is 2.25 horsepower. This is below the 3 HP standard we have set for running treadmills. One of the most frequently reported issues in Amazon reviews that I saw was the motor failing. Our model of the Redliro 2-in-1 is still going strong, but I recommend that users limit themselves to 1 hour of fast walking on the Redliro or 30 minutes of light running per day. If you are using it as an under-desk treadmill at a leisurely pace, you could probably train for longer.

For comparison, the LifeSpan TR1000-GlowUp is a much more expensive treadmill. It supports up to 6 hours of daily use with its 2.25 HP motor at a pace of 4 mph or slower. Keep in mind that horsepower does not fully describe the motor’s quality or capability. Hopefully, that gives you a better idea of what to expect from the Redliro.

Running Surface

The Redliro 2-in-1 has a running surface of 15 inches wide and 41 inches long. The standard residential running treadmill is 20” x 60”. Most users will not be able to comfortably run on the Redliro 2-in-1 because of its smaller deck size. To safely run, you need to take shorter steps and run with a higher cadence. Users should also stay aware of the positioning on the belt during their activity.

As an under-desk treadmill and walking treadmill, the Redliro 2-in-1 has a decent amount of room. It has a low step-up height of only around 4 inches. It was easy for me to step on and off to move around my office space as needed.

The deck is about 0.5” thick. Most quality running treadmills have a deck thickness of 0.75” to 1”. The thickness of the Redliro is suitable for its weight capacity at a walking speed. It is not suitable for regular running. Using the Redliro as a dedicated running treadmill could crack the treadmill deck prematurely. It’s not uncommon for treadmill decks to wear out after tons of use and need replacement, but the Redliro’s may not last nearly as long as would be expected of a pricier treadmill.

Folding/Storage

Folding and Storage are areas the Redliro 2-in-1 excels at. It is incredibly compact. You can store it under a bed or couch. You can also store it upright against a wall or in a closet. The Redliro weighs only 57 lbs, so it is super easy to roll around on its front transport wheels. Some users may be able to carry it around whenever necessary.

Features & Accessories

I’m really impressed with the amount of features that the Redliro has for its price point. Additional features would not improve this treadmill because it would just add weight, make the treadmill bulkier, or increase the price.

Console Overview

The Redliro 2-in-1 has a folding console and a display on its motor hood. The folding console can be adjusted up or down by turning the two knobs at the bottom of its uprights. The console has buttons for starting and stopping the belt, adjusting the speed, and choosing a program. When the console is in the upright position, the Redliro 2-in-1 is suitable for faster speed. You should not attempt running speeds when the console is folded down.

Screen

The screen displays your total time, steps, speed, distance, and calories. You cannot see all of these metrics at one time. When setting up a program, the screen will display which program number you are on. Since the screen is small and situated on the motor hood, it is not the easiest to see. Some users may have difficulty with it in low lighting.

Storage

The Redliro has a little bit of storage. There is a narrow rubberized compartment on the console. You can only access this storage compartment when the console is positioned upright. There is enough room to store a phone and the remote control that the treadmill comes with. It’s not the easiest to use your phone when it is positioned like this, but it is pretty secure. Even when I was running at the maximum speed my phone stayed put. Just make sure that your phone is pushed all the way into the rubber slot. I have a phone case on my phone which made it a snug and secure fit.

Remote

The Redliro comes with a remote control to start, stop, and adjust the treadmill when the console is folded down. This is handy when you are using the treadmill as an under-desk treadmill. You can set the remote on your desk and make adjustments when needed.

I was a little confused about how to use the remote. The power button is actually the button to start and stop the treadmill, not turn it off/on. Otherwise, the remote is great. It has a wrist strap, so you can keep it on hand.

Performance

The biggest question about the Redliro 2-in-1 is if it actually works as a running treadmill. Now, I want to caution that the Redliro should not be used as a dedicated running treadmill. That is, if you are going to run every single day, I strongly recommend investing in a more traditional running treadmill. However, during my testing, I ran 4 miles and 7 miles on the Redliro treadmill at different times. Much to my surprise, I had no issues doing so. For my 7-mile run, I kept 10-minute pace, so it took me 1 hour and 10 minutes to run the whole distance. I did not stop during my run, and the Redliro ran continuously.

I had to run with a high cadence and took shorter steps because of the small running surface. I felt fatigued a lot faster than normal at that pace because of how many steps I was taking. I took about 13,000 steps during this run, but the Redliro only recorded 2,000 of those steps. The step counter was more accurate while I was walking.

I saw reviews that mentioned the motor malfunctioning and the deck cracking when users were running. Even though this didn’t happen to me, I think this is a possibility with inappropriate use. I advise that most users keep the Redliro for walking and brief, occasional jogs.

As an under-desk treadmill, the Redliro 2-in-1 works well. I used it for about an hour at a time under my desk. It is lightweight and portable enough that I didn’t mind moving it around in the office. The noise level seemed reasonable and did not disturb my coworkers.

Training Options

There are 12 training programs on the Redliro 2-in-1. You can select a program with the remote or console buttons. I was really surprised by this variety. The speed changes to take you through intervals or a progression. It takes a little trial and error to figure out which programs are appropriate for you. They incorporate running and walking speeds.

Very few treadmills at this price point have training programs. I appreciate Redliro for including them on this machine.

Bottom Line Review of the Redliro 2-in-1 Treadmill

The Redliro 2-in-1 treadmill is an excellent under-desk treadmill that converts to a fitness treadmill. You just have to adjust the console. The maximum speed is 7.5 miles per hour. Not all users will have enough room to comfortably run at this speed, so be cautious. The compact and lightweight construction makes it easy to store the Redliro 2-in-1 under a bed or upright inside a closet. It is also easy to move around an office space. Budget shoppers should check out this treadmill. It is sold on Amazon so frequently has an offer of free shipping.
