NordicTrack began with one man’s dream to take skiing indoors. In 1976, the first NordicTrack machine was invented by Ed Pauls. Pauls had a background as a mechanical engineer and as a skier, the perfect combo to result in the NordicTrack Skier.

The CML corporation, the original acquirer, was responsible for expanding NordicTrack’s line to include more exercise equipment. One of the first NordicTrack treadmills was known as the Walk Fit, a non-motorized treadmill with moving handles.
