Most NordicTrack ellipticals (accept for the SE7i and FS5i) are now equipped with an HD touchscreen display. Even the SE7i and FS5i (LCD displays) are now fully integrated to access iFit Coach, an ICON Fitness subscription service for accessing a huge library of workout videos specifically for your elliptical. These workout videos use world-class personal trainers that guide you through your workout. Your elliptical will automatically adjust resistance and incline to follow along with the video. NordicTrack Elliptical Product Line Summary
Over the years, NordicTrack has been developing their ellipticals to meet the demands of their customers. This has led to the creation of three distinct series: the Rear Drive Series, the Front Drive Series, and the Freestride Series.
The original elliptical from Precor was rear-drive and because Precor held the patent for that design, other companies introduced the front-drive elliptical as a means to break into the market. Really, both configurations are so similar that it’s hard to say which one is “best”. But, NordicTrack has developed its center-drive elliptical that really stands out. It’s incredibly comfortable to use and seems more ergonomic concerning the foot placement in correlation to stride. Because the flywheel is not positioned between the foot pedal rails, the center drive design allows the foot pedals to be placed closer together which better resembles a natural walking pattern. The center drive also allows for a wider and more variable stride length, allowing for taller users and more range of motion to target different muscle groups.
NordicTrack Freestride Series Ellipticals (Center Drive)
The NordicTrack Freestride series is made up of three models: the FS5i, FS7i, and the FS9i. These range in price from $1999 to $2499. Their base model, the FS5i, is the least expensive with an LCD screen and lighter weight flywheel (16 pounds). The FS7i is an awesome product.
