Treadmill Review

The C 9.5 has an MSRP of $1299 but we were able to find it on sale at NordicTrack.com for $999. The price for the C 9.5 is really competitive. Even at $999, the C 9.5 has some pretty exciting features that you won’t typically find at this price point. The HD touchscreen display is one. Another great addition to the C 9.5 is the power incline. A lot of ellipticals at this price point might come with an incline ramp that requires you to hop off the elliptical to adjust the incline. But the C 9.5 can adjust between 0-20% incline options with the touch of a button, mid-workout, no interruptions. We love this elliptical, especially for how inexpensive it is.

The NordicTrack C 9.5 Is A Good Elliptical Purchase For A Specific Audience:

  • If your balance isn’t what it used to be. The front-drive construction is typically the easiest elliptical to climb onto. The C 9.5 has stationary handlebars to hang onto and fewer parts to climb over when you’re stepping onto the large foot pedals.
  • If your budget is limited. Considering the cost, this is a great elliptical for getting more than your money’s worth.
  • If you’re looking for an elliptical that's fun and entertaining to use. The subscription service (iFit) that comes with this elliptical is one of the most fun, best ways to pass the time on a home elliptical.

The NordicTrack C 9.5 Made Our List of BEST ELLIPTICALS

We put together a list of our favorite home ellipticals and the NordicTrack C 9.5 is on there because of its cost-to-features ratio. You really are getting a great deal on this elliptical considering it's under $1000 most of the year and it has a lot of entertainment features you’ll find on NordicTrack’s more high-end ellipticals. The HD touchscreen, incline abilities, iFit library, and personal trainers, and the reliable construction combined make this a great purchase option.

MODEL OVERVIEW

Drive: Front Drive

Flywheel Weight: 25 lbs

Stride Length: 19 inches

Handlebars: Moving and stationary handlebars, multiple options for hand placement

Product Weight:

Max Weight Capacity: 350 lbs

Footprint: 68.3" L x 36.9" W x 67.1" H

Warranties: 10-year frame, 2-years parts, 1-year labor

Front-drive ellipticals are typically easier to climb on and off of. Because the C 9.5 has a set of stationary handlebars, anyone with balance concerns can confidently hang onto these handholds to securely mount the C 9.5. Ellipticals with only moving handlebars are a little trickier to climb onto. Additionally, the C 9.5 doesn’t have much machinery in the back of the elliptical so you’re not having to climb over as much equipment to get to the large foot pedals.

This elliptical is capable of supporting a max user weight of 350 pounds, which is higher than a lot of ellipticals at this price point. To support their build quality, NordicTrack warranties this elliptical for 10 years (frame). Even if the C 9.5 were to completely fall apart after 10 years, you would have invested $100 a year towards your home fitness which is much cheaper than a gym membership.

Typically you can look to the flywheel weight to gage an ellipticals dependability. A heavier flywheel usually lasts longer and also indicates a smoother ride. The 25-pound flywheel on the C 9.5 is a great weight at this price point.

The only potential downside to the build-qaulity on the C 9.5 is the 19” stride length. While this is plenty of room for the average male or female, taller users might feel too restricted by this stride length.

On-Board Workouts: 32+

The NordicTrack C 9.5 has a lot of standard features you would expect at this price point. It offers 24 resistance levels which are compounded by an incline range of 0-20%. The 32+ onboard workouts are actually videos from the iFit library that you can access without an iFit subscription. You can get even more workout options when you log into iFit, making your library just about endless. There is so much content on iFit, you would never have to repeat a workout if you didn’t want to. This is a great selling point for the C 9.5. This elliptical is great at eliminating cardio boredom.

Many ellipticals, especially those at this price point, don’t offer an incline. When they do, it’s usually an incline ramp. Incline ramps have to be manually adjusted by hopping off the elliptical, adjusting the ramp, and then climbing back on. This is incredibly disruptive to the workout. The C 9.5 has a digitally controlled incline range of 0-20%. With the touch of a button, you can increase/decrease your incline for more/less resistance.

The onboard workout programs are also capable of auto-adjusting your incline and resistance when you follow along with one of the workouts. This feature can be disengaged by simply setting the incline or resistance yourself mid-workout.

The C 9.5 elliptical has an updated 7” HD touchscreen display. You don’t have to settle for an outdated LCD display screen when you buy an elliptical under $1000. The C 9.5’s display screen is highly responsive, easy to view, and can adjust the brightness or tilt to avoid glare.
