Treadmill Review

Last Updated: 9/22/2022

Here at Treadmill Reviews, we are always happy to review another ProForm treadmill, as this manufacturer has a reputation for excellent machines. However, the ProForm Carbon T10 treadmill left us with mixed feelings.

There are a number of things that we really like on the Carbon T10, such as the 10" touchscreen display, or that you can get the treadmill free with the purchase of a 3-year family membership of iFit. But the treadmill deck—measuring 20" wide and 55" long—is a little short compared to what we would expect from a treadmill at this price point, as well as other features that are slightly lacking.

Overall, we are divided on what to recommend with this treadmill. The Carbon T10 is still a quality treadmill from ProForm, but it is a little pricey for the features being offered, especially compared with the Pro series treadmills. If you can find it under the $1,899 price point, the Carbon T10 may be worth bringing home.

With an MSRP of $2,999, you will generally find the Carbon T10 on ProForm for $1,899.

The Carbon T10 Is Built For Users Who:

  • Want to use iFit- While you can use the iFit personal training program off of a machine, being able to use this versatile program on a treadmill is a great way to maximize the available training.
  • Like easy-to-use equipment - Most people have used a touchscreen device before, so the fact that the Carbon T10 comes with a touchscreen display makes it far more approachable and easy to use.
  • Need a more compact treadmill - This treadmill is on the smaller side, which can be a positive for those who don't want a behemoth in their home.

Why The Carbon T10 Earned 4 Stars

There were a handful of things that dropped our rating of the ProForm Carbon T10 treadmill a little lower than some people might expect from a ProForm treadmill, such as:

  • Slightly limited features - For its price range, the Carbon T10 has slightly limited features, from its smaller treadmill deck to the restricted incline range.
  • Still offers excellent fitness tech - Included with this treadmill is some of the great fitness tech, like a touchscreen display with iFit integrated, you can also get this treadmill for free through the ProForm+ program with a purchase of a 3-year family plan iFit membership.
  • On the expensive side - The biggest reason the Carbon T10 lost points was due to its higher price point in comparison with the features provided. If the price lowers below $1,899, this treadmill becomes a much more viable option.

ProForm Carbon T10 Main Specs

Specs “Quick Review”:

  • Motor Size: 3.0 CHP
  • Running Area: 20" W x 55" L
  • Weight Capacity: 300-lb
  • Folding: Yes
  • Footprint In Use (W, L, H): 35.24” W x 74.62” L x 64.39” T
  • Incline Range: 0-12 %
  • Max Speed: 0-12 MPH
  • Treadmill Best For: Walking, Jogging, Running
  • Electrical Requirements: 110-120V

Motor Size - The Carbon T10 treadmill comes with a 3.0 CHP motor. While the motor may not reach the same strength while plugged into a residential outlet, it is plenty strong enough to support you through your treadmill workouts, whether you are a walker or want to run regularly. Also, the Carbon T10 operates fairly quietly for a strong motor, so you shouldn't bother someone outside of the room the treadmill is in—aside from the sounds of your footsteps!

Running Area - On this treadmill, the running area is not as large as we like to see at this price point. It only measures 20" wide by 55" long. While the width isn't as much of an issue, taller treadmill users may want to look at other, longer treadmill options if they are over 6'2".

Weight Capacity - While the Carbon T10 is a smaller treadmill, it does have a good weight capacity, with the ability to accommodate a user who weighs up to 300 pounds.

Folding - If you need a compact folding treadmill, the Carbon T10 is a good option to consider. It is able to fold up easily, thanks to the EasyLift Assist hydraulic system. This system both makes folding and unfolding the treadmill deck easier and safer, as the treadmill deck can be allowed to descend hands-free, and it will touch down gently.

Space / Footprint - Measuring the space that you want your new treadmill to go is an important part of preparing your living space for new equipment. The measurements of the Carbon T10 are 35.24” wide, 74.62” long, and 64.39” high, which is more compact than the Pro series treadmills as well as other treadmills in this price range.

Max Speed - As is standard on treadmills over $1,000, the Carbon T10 has a max speed of 12 MPH. You can go up or down in speed by increments of 0.1 with the adjustment arrows or by whole integers if you use the quick keys below the incline quick keys.

Incline - If you are looking to get the most out of your treadmill workouts by using incline, the Carbon T10 will go from 0% to 12% incline. You can adjust the incline up or down by 0.5 increments with the arrows or use the quick keys that are directly below the touchscreen.

ProForm Carbon T10 Features

Features “Quick Review”

  • Display: 10" smart HD touchscreen
  • PreInstalled Workout Apps: iFit
  • Speakers: Yes
  • Fans: Yes
  • Heart Rate Monitoring: Pulse grips
  • USB port: No
  • Audio Jack: Yes
  • Water bottle cubbies: Yes
  • Device holder: Shelf

Workout Apps - One of the standout features of the Carbon T10 is the fact that it comes with iFit already integrated. This personal training program allows you to access the expansive workout library of programs easily, giving you the ability to find the perfect workout. And, if you really can't find a workout, there are the Google Maps workouts, with pre-made map workouts as well as the ability to make your own workouts.

Normally, this personal training program will cost you $39 per month for the family plan, but when you buy the Carbon T10 from ProForm, you will receive a free month subscription. With that testing period, you can decide if you really want to commit to a membership, or you are fine with just your treadmill.

Display - With its high-definition touchscreen, you can easily jump on your Carbon T10 and not worry about what buttons you need to get it going. Instead, the touchscreen display is clearly labeled and is responsive to your touch even when your hands get a bit sweaty during your workout.

If there is one issue we take with all ProForm treadmill displays, it is how the quick keys are stacked on top of each other. It is ridiculously easy to push the wrong keys, like hitting an incline key when you want to change your speed or vice versa.

Speakers - There are a pair of 2" speakers built into the Carbon T10 treadmill. You can adjust the volume enough to enjoy your iFit personal trainer as you workout, or plug in your music and rock out as you workout.

Fans - Aimed toward cooling your core, the Carbon T10 fan is pretty effective at keeping you from overheating while working out. You can choose from two different speeds depending on your needs.

Heart Rate Monitoring - There are dual handlebar grips on the Carbon T10, and they allow you to get a rough idea of where your heart rate is at during your workout. However, the estimate is pretty general, as these kinds of pulse grips are never that accurate.

Other Tech Features

  • iFit integrated
  • Safety key

ProForm Carbon T10 Build Quality

Carbon T10 Review: Build Quality

  • Warranties - 10-year frame, 2-year parts, 1-year labor
  • Roller Size - 1.9" precision-balanced
  • Cushioning - ProShox Z Cushioning
  • Customer Support - Email, phone
  • Return Policy - 30-day trial

The build is another area where this treadmill is on somewhat questionable ground. Don't get us wrong, the Carbon T10 is a well-built treadmill, but it doesn't compare with even other ProForm treadmills around the same price, let alone other treadmills in its price range. We did like the cushioning on this treadmill, but the build was a little skimpy.

However, the warranty and return policy are in line with other ProForm machines, so if you want to order the Carbon T10 anyway, you would be protected and be able to test it out for yourself.

Bottom Line Review Of The ProForm Carbon T10 Treadmill

Overall, the Carbon T10 is a little pricey when you consider the technical specifications that are included with this machine. You may want to check out some of the reviews of some of the other ProForm treadmills to see your other options.

Or, if you are willing to branch out from ProForm, there are plenty of excellent NordicTrack treadmills, as well as very sturdy SOLE treadmills for similar prices or less that you may like more.

Best Place To Buy The ProForm Carbon T10 Treadmill

If you are looking to pick up the Carbon T10, we recommend you go directly through ProForm, as it gives you the protection of the return policy and warranty coverage. Both of those things are not guaranteed when you buy through a third-party seller.
