ProForm 1050T Review & Ratings
Overview
The Proform 1050 T used to be a good product for its price. Times have changed with the advanced series from ProForm and many models from the Power series are instead replacing treadmills like the 1050 T. It has a a decent amount of the features, but not as much as some cheaper models now-a-days. The 3.0 HP motor will pump out a pretty good amount of power, and the cushioning will help you to keep on running without mashing your joints. The built in speakers with a iPod compatibility allows for high quality background music with your run. The Proform 1050T is a well manufactured, but is a little outdated.
There are 20 Quick Calorie-Burn Workouts that come with the 1050t console. The display is an oversized backlit 100x 160 LCD screen. The tread belt length is 20" x 60", the deck can incline up to 12%, and the maximum weight capacity is 325 lbs. The machine also has Dual-Grip EKG™ Heart Rate Monitors that can give fairly accurate readings. The new addition to treadmills in newer models though is the wireless chest strap heart monitor which gives much more accurate readings. This unfortunately does not come included in the 1050 T.
Alternatives
There are some better options that are more up to date than the 1050 T. One such alternative would be the Performance 1450. This model is $100 cheaper and offers so much more. The 1450 has a better motor, a higher incline option, a better warranty, and more importantly a ton more features. The 1450 comes with iFit Live built-in and has a full-color 10" touch screen that has a browser powered by Android. This inclusion of features really wipes the floor with the 1050 T. There isn't much of a reason to get the 1050 T over the 1450 and we wouldn't suggest doing so.
Conclusion
Overall the 1050 T is an outdated treadmill that is no longer competitive in the market. You can find much better machines that have some really cool features for a lot less.
