Proform 705 CST Review & Ratings
Overview
The Proform 705 CST is right in the specialty of Proform, coming in the sub $1000's. In order to reach this price range, much of the quality of treadmills has to be compromised. On this one it's hard to tell. The quality of this machine is superb for this price. The solidness and strength feels like a higher-end treadmill and the ProShox Elite 2 cushioning system works great. The features and 16 workout programs on the console are an added bonus.
The motor is a 2.5 CHP engine. It's fairly quiet, and feels smooth for a small motor. The engine has a lifetime warranty on it, so although it's a bit quiet, that should help you have more confidence in it. The weight capacity can hold up to 325 lbs. So if you're close to that, you'll probably want to consider a bigger and stronger treadmill. If you're not that heavy, then it should work just fine for you. The 705 CST is capable of including iFit Live, but does not include that into its price. We wouldn't recommend getting iFit Live installed on this model as the display screen would not display all the interesting features that the application has to offer. iFit Live is best on treadmills that initially include it in the main cost of the machine.
Conclusion
This treadmill, although a good buy for its price is a bit outdated. There are newer models that offer a lot better features and specs for a similar price. Look to buy the newer ProForm Power 795. It has similar specs, features, and costs the same, but the tread belt is a little longer and the screen is a bit more updated. It's a much better buy for the same price. If you're looking for a treadmill that can offer more features including, iFit Live, quality display full-color touch screens, and a plethora of other features we recommend looking into the Performance 1450. It may cost a bit more, but it comes with a lot better specs and many features to keep you entertained while you run.
