The Proform Trailrunner 4.0 has a great motor, deck, belt, and frame. It will hold up well for most any runner. With the interactive console you can travel around the world to run famous trails right in your own home. The TrailRunner 4.0 is a lot like its little sister, the TrailRunner 2.0, only it has more power and more features. The motor is 3.8 CHP which exceeds the standard for treadmills. The deck is also able to incline up to 15% and the running belt is fairly normal at 20" x 60". When the Trailrunner 4.0 is on sale, it's an incredible buy. The treadmill comes with an awesome 10" full color touch screen web browser that connects to Ifit Live and Google Maps. The feature that ups the value of a treadmill by hundreds because it makes your treadmill that much more dynamic and fun. 

Everything good that you can think of on a treadmill is probably on this treadmill. It has an excellent music port and speakers. It has 32 built in exercises. With that many workouts in addition to iFit Live, you should never get bored on this treadmill. The cushioning is great because it is adjustable using Proform's Protech advanced adjustable cushioning. This lets you set your treadmill's firmness or softness according to your preference. With all of this and much more you'll love this treadmill whether it's for yourself or your family.

The main difference between the Trailrunner 4.0 and 2.0 is that the 4.0 has a slightly stronger motor, a bigger display screen, 2 more workout programs, and the option to control the intensity of a given workout.

Conclusion

The Trailrunner 4.0 costs $500 more dollars than the Trailrunner 2.0 and offers a few features and specs that are improved. The cost difference is a bit too steep for only getting a stronger motor and a bigger screen. If reliability and a slightly stronger and consistent motor is important to you, then the Trailrunner 4.0 would be a good choice.
